Slow-cooker barbecue ribs are a flavorful, easy-to-make dish that highlights the magic of slow cooking. With a blend of spices and barbecue sauce, the ribs come out tender, juicy, and full of smoky-sweet goodness.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 racks of pork ribs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Remove the thin membrane from the ribs.
  • Combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and brown sugar. Rub over ribs.
  • Place ribs in the slow cooker. Pour half the sauce on top.
  • Cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
  • Brush with remaining sauce. Optional: Broil ribs for 5 minutes until caramelized.

Notes

  • Choose a thick, smoky barbecue sauce for the best results.
  • Removing the membrane ensures tenderness.
  • You can use beef ribs instead of pork.
  • Adding liquid smoke boosts the smoky flavour.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer.
