Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 6 cups mixed salad greens
  • 1/2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cups crumbled blue cheese or feta
  • 1/4 cups toasted nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Rub the steak with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes per side (or until desired doneness).
  • Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  • In a large bowl, combine salad greens, cherry tomatoes, red onion, avocado, cheese, and nuts.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and pepper.
  • Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.
  • Top with sliced steak and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use your favorite cut of steak for this salad.
  • Let the steak rest before slicing to retain its juices.
  • Swap out blue cheese for goat cheese if preferred.
