- 4  large carrots, peeled and sliced into rounds or sticks
 - 1/2  cup  water
 - 1/2  tsp  salt (optional)
 - 1 tbsp  butter or olive oil (optional)
 - 1 tsp  fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
 - 1/2  tsp  black pepper (optional)
 - 1/2  tsp  honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
 
 
Peel and slice carrots into rounds or sticks, ensuring even sizes for uniform cooking.
Add water to a steaming basket or saucepan and bring to a boil.
Place the carrots in the steaming basket and cover with a lid.
Steam for 5-7 minutes, or until carrots are tender but not mushy.
Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.
Optionally, toss with butter or olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and honey.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

For softer carrots, steam for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Baby carrots can be used instead of sliced carrots but may require extra cooking time.
