Ingredients

  • 2 cans (16 oz each) refrigerated biscuits or cinnamon rolls
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional but traditional)
  • Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or icing (optional for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  • Cut biscuits or cinnamon rolls into quarters.
  • Spread dough pieces evenly in the baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle chopped pecans on top if using.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly; serve warm with syrup, icing, or powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Cinnamon roll dough results in a sweeter, more dessert-like casserole.
  • For extra gooey texture, add ¼ cup heavy cream to the caramel mixture.
  • Pecans can be replaced with walnuts or omitted entirely.
  • Bake uncovered for a crisp top, or cover halfway for a softer texture.
  • Leftovers reheat beautifully in the microwave or air fryer.
