Instructions
 

Prepare the Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).Grease and line a 9-inch round cake pan.Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until combined.Pour batter into the prepared pan

Bake

  • Bake for 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.Cool completely before slicing.

Prepare the Strawberries

  • Toss sliced strawberries with sugar.Let stand for 15 minutes to release juices.

Make the Whipped Cream

  • Beat heavy cream until soft peaks form.Add powdered sugar and vanilla.Continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

Assemble the Torte

  • Slice the cooled cake horizontally into two layers.Spread whipped cream over the bottom layer.Add a generous layer of strawberries.Place the second cake layer on top.Frost the top with remaining whipped cream.Decorate with strawberries and mint leaves.

Chill
