- 300 g steak (sirloin or flank), thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 large bag tortilla chips
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or mozzarella
- ½ cup cooked black beans or refried beans
- ½ cup sliced jalapeños
- ½ cup diced tomatoes or pico de gallo
- ¼ cup sliced black olives
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
In a bowl, combine steak with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steak for 4–6 minutes until browned and tender. Remove from heat.
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Spread tortilla chips evenly on a large baking tray.
Sprinkle half the cheese over the chips, then layer steak, beans, jalapeños, tomatoes, and olives.
Add the remaining cheese on top.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve immediately with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
- Freshly shredded cheese melts better than packaged cheese.
- Flank or sirloin steak provides the best texture.
- Serve immediately to prevent soggy chips.
- Adjust spice levels to suit your taste.
- Use a wide tray for even layering.
