Sweet Potato Base:
- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
Pecan Streusel Topping:
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tbsp melted butter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Boil the sweet potatoes until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
Drain and mash them until smooth.
Add butter, brown sugar, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; mix well.
Spread the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
