Ingredients
  

  • 6 ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional for richness)

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Sauté the Aromatics
    Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook until soft and fragrant, about 3–4 minutes.
  • Step 2: Add Tomatoes
    Add chopped tomatoes to the pan. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to break down.
  • Step 3: Season and Simmer
    Pour in vegetable broth. Add salt, pepper, sugar, and basil. Stir well and simmer for 15–20 minutes.
  • Step 4: Blend Until Smooth
    Remove from heat. Use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree the soup until smooth and silky.
  • Step 5: Add Butter (Optional)
    For a creamy texture, stir in butter at the end. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
