Ingredients
  

  • 4 triggerfish fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Optional: lemon wedges for serving

Instructions
 

  • Pat the triggerfish fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  • Flip the fillets and add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, spooning the butter mixture over the fish.
  • Add lemon juice and zest, and cook for 1-2 more minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Triggerfish cooks quickly, so avoid overcooking to maintain its delicate texture.
  • Pair with roasted vegetables, rice, or a light salad for a complete meal.
