Ingredients
  

  • 1-inch fresh turmeric root (or 1 teaspoon turmeric powder)
  • 1-inch fresh ginger root
  • 1 cup water or coconut water
  • Juice of 1 lemon or orange
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions
 

  • Peel and chop turmeric and ginger.
  • Add them to a blender with water or coconut water.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Strain the mixture using a fine sieve or cheesecloth (optional).
  • Add fresh lemon or orange juice.
  • Stir in honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • Add a pinch of black pepper and mix well.
  • Serve immediately or chill before drinking.
