- 2 inches of fresh turmeric root (or 1 teaspoon turmeric powder)
- 1 inch of fresh ginger root
- 1 inch medium lemon (juiced)
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
- ⅓ cup water
- A pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)
Prepare Ingredients: Wash and peel the turmeric and ginger roots. Chop them into smaller pieces for easier blending. Blend: In a blender, combine turmeric, ginger, lemon juice, water, and honey. Blend until smooth. Strain: Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the mixture into a bowl or cup, removing any pulp. Add Pepper: Stir in a pinch of black pepper to enhance the bioavailability of turmeric. Serve: Pour into small shot glasses and enjoy immediately. For a chilled version, refrigerate for 10 minutes before serving.
