Ingredients
  

  • 2 inches of fresh turmeric root (or 1 teaspoon turmeric powder)
  • 1 inch of fresh ginger root
  • 1 inch medium lemon (juiced)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
  • cup water
  • A pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Ingredients:
    Wash and peel the turmeric and ginger roots. Chop them into smaller pieces for easier blending.
  • Blend:
    In a blender, combine turmeric, ginger, lemon juice, water, and honey. Blend until smooth.
  • Strain:
    Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the mixture into a bowl or cup, removing any pulp.
  • Add Pepper:
    Stir in a pinch of black pepper to enhance the bioavailability of turmeric.
  • Serve:
    Pour into small shot glasses and enjoy immediately. For a chilled version, refrigerate for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If using turmeric powder, start with 1 teaspoon and adjust to taste.
  • Be cautious when handling fresh turmeric, as it can stain surfaces and clothing.
