Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • oil
  • Green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Prepare the Marinade:
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Marinate the Beef:
Place the thinly sliced beef in the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor.
  • Prepare the Coating:
Beat the eggs in one bowl and place the flour in another. These will be used to coat the beef slices.
  • Coat the Beef:
Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Dip each piece of marinated beef first in the flour, shaking off any excess, and then in the beaten eggs, coating thoroughly.
  • Fry the Beef:
Place the coated beef slices in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve:
Serve the meat jun hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. It pairs well with steamed rice and dipping sauce (soy sauce with a touch of vinegar and sesame oil).
