Oven-Roasted Ribs: Fall-Off-the-Bone Tender Pork Ribs

Shruthi
Oven-Roasted Ribs are slow-cooked pork ribs seasoned with a flavorful spice rub and finished with a rich barbecue glaze. The low-and-slow roasting method produces exceptionally tender meat that easily separates from the bone while remaining juicy and flavorful. A final layer of barbecue sauce caramelizes beautifully, creating a sticky, irresistible finish. Perfect for family dinners, parties, and special occasions, these ribs deliver authentic barbecue flavor using simple kitchen techniques. Every bite offers a delicious combination of smoky seasoning, tender pork, and sweet-savory glaze.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Dry Rub

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Barbecue Glaze

  • 1½ cups barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs using a paper towel for better grip.
  • Pat the ribs dry and rub with olive oil.
  • Mix all dry rub ingredients in a small bowl and generously coat both sides of the ribs.
  • Place each rack on a large sheet of aluminum foil and wrap tightly.
  • Arrange the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and roast for 3 to 3½ hours until tender.
  • Carefully remove the ribs from the foil and place them back on the baking sheet.
  • Mix the barbecue glaze ingredients and brush generously over the ribs.
  • Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, brushing with additional glaze halfway through.
  • Allow the ribs to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Removing the membrane improves tenderness.
  • Wrapping the ribs keeps them moist.
  • Baby back ribs cook slightly faster than spare ribs.
  • Homemade barbecue sauce can be used for extra flavor.
  • Let the ribs rest before cutting.
  • Use quality paprika for deeper flavor.
  • Save pan juices for serving.
  • Leftovers reheat beautifully.
