For the Cupcakes

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk

For the Buttercream Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).Line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
    In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
    Mix in vanilla extract.
    Alternately add dry ingredients and milk until fully combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly among six bowls.
  • Place a small spoonful of purple batter into each liner.
  • Bake for 16–18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.Allow cupcakes to cool completely.
  • Beat butter until smooth.Gradually add powdered sugar.Mix in vanilla extract, cream, and salt.Beat until fluffy and creamy
  • Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes.Top with rainbow sprinkles and decorative candies.Serve and enjoy.
