Ingredients
  

  • 4–5 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven or roasting pan.
  • Sear the brisket on both sides until browned.
  • Remove the brisket and add sliced onions and garlic to the pan.
  • Cook onions until softened, then stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth.
  • Return the brisket to the pan and spoon some liquid over the top.
  • Cover tightly with a lid or foil and bake for approximately 4 hours, or until fork-tender.
  • Allow the brisket to rest for 15 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving with the cooking juices.
