Tips and Tricks:

  • Choose Quality Ingredients:
    • Start with high-quality pasta. Look for brands made from durum wheat semolina for the best texture and flavor.
    • Use fresh and ripe tomatoes for your sauce, or opt for good-quality canned tomatoes if fresh ones aren’t in season.
  • Salt the Pasta Water:
    • Add a generous amount of salt (about 1-2 tablespoons per gallon of water) to the boiling water before cooking the spaghetti. This helps season the pasta from the inside out.
  • Don’t Overcook the Pasta:
    • Follow the package instructions for cooking times but taste the pasta a minute or two before the suggested time to ensure it’s al dente (firm to the bite). Overcooked pasta can be mushy and less appealing.

  • Can I use whole wheat spaghetti for a healthier option?

Yes, you can substitute whole wheat spaghetti for a healthier twist.

  • What's the difference between spaghetti and other pasta shapes?
